Pop singer George Michael has died, aged 53.

The ex-lead singer of 80s band died peacefully in his sleep at home according to his publicist.

BBC News is reporting police and ambulance were called to the singer's Oxfordshire property at just after 1.30pm local time.

I can't believe I haven't had any funny texts about this. The Michael Jackson ones came through before I even got out of bed.

On a funny note, the Irish lady that lives at the back of my inlaws spent yesterday crying and drowning her sorrows about this. Then pulled herself together and came over for a Christmas drink. While here she started tearing up about it again & said she still can't come to terms with Boy George dying. We couldn't do anything but laugh & let her know it was a different pommy poof called George.
