5 window 34's are cooler.  Mates old man has had one in storage for over 40 years. Bought it in the 60's and had a crack a rodding it.  Tank Fairlane running gear (Y block) and a reveresed HR front end.  Drove it once, apparantly it went good, but didn't stop or turn...

Locked it up in the back shed while he built a house and had kids.  Last year we dragged it out after 41 years.

Had a brand new chassis built with rod Tech front and rear end.  Built himself a mild 351 windsor, AOD auto and 9".  He's a chev man, but can't bring himself to crossbreed on a genuine full steel body 34.   Chassis is completed ready for paint, but the body still needs to be steeled out (still has the original timber frame)  Still has a ton of hours and dollars to complete it.  Finished it will be black, red leather, wire wheels, full electrics, AC & PS.  A comfortable cruiser.

Now that is cool, though I would have kept it as a survivor time capsule .. And put all the goody new bits into a new build .. But thats just me .  Always wanted to put a sticker on my customised cars  to be able to point to.. "  It Is, I Did, You Dont Have To " .  for when they ask you about it and did you build it and say I dont like it ...
BUT  as this sticker says

I'd personally drop the body untouched straight onto the new chassis. You can't fake a 83 year old paint job.

There's been many a boozy night in the last 20 years discussing how this 34 should be done.  Other than engine combo, he's never swayed from his original plan in the late 60's. arrow straight gloss black paint, red wire wheels and red leather interior, including the rumble seat. This has been his dream for almost 50 years.

The original chassis has been claimed by my mate.  Plan is to get the motor running, service the brakes and suspension. Then find a cool old ratty body to drop over it.  Preserve the 60's homemade hot rod chassis.

Thats one very ..... unusual rare coupe / owner ............................................................................................. He actually has a Ford motor in a ford  ??? ??? ..

And it actually has a real blower on it that is suitable to engine size. (Looks like a 6/71, could be wrong)

Most hot rod guys go straight for polished billet BDS 8/71 sitting on top of a shiny low comp crate engine.  ::)
With enough horse power, sheer ignorance and a total lack of respect for your vehicle, you'll get through....

WHOA.....big money for a 66 Fleetwood.

Granted, it is MINT CONDITION, but it does still have over 80,000 miles on it too.

Found my new car today.

Loved this one too. Absolutely spotless, but only powered by a 186S and a Powerslide.

This ones the real McCoy Bathurst 327.
