Saw a cruise going down eastlink - Val's, GTHO's, toranas, corvettes, caddys you name it... would have been 40-50 odd cars all up....

Brilliant day for it.

different grill isnt the most difference?

Yeah, the grill, the front indicators are different, the panel between the screen and the bonnet it different, the front over-riders (FB are much smaller)

If they are in stock form, even more so with side trim and Shit, but that one has been modified a tad.

The EK has the 5 horizontal grill, the FB has the 3 bar

Also
Bonnet Bar No grille decal on the FB whereas the EK Grille decal in the centre
FB had plain hubcaps whereas the EK's hubcaps have the Holden lion
The 'Special' Badge Letters held 'together' at bottom on the FB but the letters held 'together' through middle on the EK
Boot Holden Badge One piece on the FB whereas the EK has individual letters
Rear pillar has triangular stainless moulding on the FB (EK no moulding)
Plenum chamber Horizontally slatted grille on the FB but the EK has vertically slatted grille
2005 4.2TD ST Patrol 4 door ute, lifted, locked, ARB barred and Warn winched, 33" Cooper ST Maxx.....and a denco turbo upgrade! mmmm power.....

GeoffA

So, is this an FB with EK bonnet and bumper overrides, or an EK with some FB bits?

An interesting news clip of time past when panel vans ruled. And the hotel that features in the background was my old local in my younger days.

Jeepers Creepers

Be interesting, to see how many survived after all these years.

Between Rusty the home wrecker, prangs and getting stolen etc, wouldn't be too many left i'm thinking.

That's a blast from the past, my first car was a blue HJ Sandman.

Love to now the year that it was filmed as it was in the car park of the local hotel and at the 14 sec mark there is a mustard coloured Corolla on the right of screen. In 1981 I had a  mustard 76 Corolla van running a 1600 twin cam levin motor along with the 5 speed box. Now I can't remember what I did yesterday but now wonder whether I was there at this meet and that was my car.
Certainly out of placed amongst all those V8s but it was a nice car and had some pace too.

Found a use for the old Paj....
Love the ute, I'd have that in a flash.

Gone to a new home

Jeepers Creepers

I just got back from a parts run in the Fleetwood.

Cars today, are built nothing like they were way back when.

Sure, in a 100klm head-on, in the Fleetwood, i'm gunna die, but the car would be fixable.
Do the same 100klm head-on in the Statesman, i'm gunna live, but the car would have one usable part left on.

But, all that aside, that friggin Fleetwood, is just so nice to drive.
Never fails to put a smile on my face, except at "fuel up time".
