A way bit lower than the Golden Mill plus they were spruking all week . Overseas collectors wanted it,  but was blocked from leaving the country by the government .
So they may have had their Mill plus, but had to give it up to a lower $$  Aussie buyer .

Gov has put a temp thing on the sale - to make sure it cant be sold overseas.... they want Holden to buy it LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

As Pottsy said, 100% Pontiac.

They were known for their single or sometimes double, stainless trim the run the middle of the boot and bonnet.

My cousin ordered a brand new XY van with bucket seats, 250 4 speed, alloy wheels etc.
The dealer laughed at him, but placed the order anyway.....

My brother bought his employers XY 250, 3 on the tree van and promptly threw a 351C 4V, top loader and 9" at it.

My father ordered a new 68 Fairlane.....6 cyl 3 on the tree.....because that was the only way to get a front bench seat......4 kids will do that.
An option was the GT steering box.......No more 16 turns lock to lock.......and it turned out to have a one off colour.....very similar to the Burgany but slightly different.
Still getting around somewhere out west.

Its official name is the Ford Falcon XA GT RPO 83, and is even more rare the mighty Ford Falcon GTs of the 1970s.

The Ford Falcon XA GT RPO 83 edition was created almost by accident. Ford had planned to build a Ford Falcon GT Phase IV – a successor to the race-winning Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III models.

However, plans to produce the Ford Falcon GT Phase IV were dropped after the car made front-page news following a public and political backlash.

Back in the day, race cars had to be based on road cars, so Ford and Holden tried to outdo each other with special showroom editions.



The car up for auction this weekend was recovered from the Darling Downs – a regional area between Brisbane and Toowoomba.

The original owner bought the vehicle new in 1973 and used it as his wedding car in 1974.

After 15 years – and 46,386 miles (74,651km) – the car became too costly to insure, so the owner parked the vehicle in a shed surrounded by chicken wire "to keep the pigeons out".
