Jeepers Creepers

One bloke wandered in and wanted to know what the go was.

He would've been 80 in the shade.

Went on to say he had around 20 cars and he should come back with his XY GT.
I said, well go get it.
He said, I have to do some shopping first and off he went.

About 30 minutes later, in rolled an XY GT Fairmont, factory black vinyl roof, sort of a darkish gold/bronze colour, very original and unmolested.

A few were confused being a Fairmont, but Ford sent them to South Africa in that guise.
(HG Monaro's went there as a Chevrolet SS.)

Most of the other cars he has are out west in a fairly dry climate..... yes I have his name and ph. number and no, you can't have it.

Seems the Moggy is a bit modded in the handling department, Is that a Sway bar I see hanging down under the front end  ...
One of the scariest rides Ive ever had was in a mates 48  Moggy Lo Lite 2 door,  fitted with a 1275 Cooper S motor sucking Avgas through a  45 Weber side draught, 120 MPH on cheese cutter mags and the original style suspension and lever action shocks .
The little Moggy body shell wasnt  exactly the stiffest when it came to flexing through the twisty bits of road, I distinctly remember a lot of air getting in through the doors  ;D ;D ;
Smelt and sounded fantastic though at full noise .. Loved that sweet smell of Avgas .

Yeah, Dorris the Morris has a 1500 Nissan motor, later model struts, bigger brakes etc, handles like a go-kart on steroids.

QuoteWe're doing it again, this time raising funds for Motor Neuron Disease.
Come along and watch the Bandit drive poor old Jackie Gleeson crazy all over again in the original "Smokey and the Bandit".

We've specifically chosen this film as being family friends so make sure you bring the kids as well.
All makes welcome for the car show

Noticed a sale of 11 Holden Premiers from Western Australia.
premiercollection4sale.com.au
The HJ Premier belonged to my uncle George. He bought it when he retired from GMH at Woodville as paint shop manager in 1975. The car went down the line with his name on it and went through the paint shop process several times to give it a unique finish.
It was offered to me 12 years ago for $5000 but I already had an HZ Premier so I declined the offer.

I love this...

I've currently got one of the wife's kidneys on E-bay to see if we can afford to buy this 58.
If I had to, I might consider doing a deal on both kidneys, as I really... really like this car.

This is the first car that I owned , 1964 Datsun tray back . Cost me more for the rims and tyres than I paid for the ute .

I had a ball with this thing , blew up a couple of engines due to constant over revving , wiped out a few doors and guards , and got a sh!# load of tickets , undue noise , speeding type of thing .

But I love the ute , sad day when I sold it and bought a Datsun 180B .

The next door neighbor (Wogs) to an old mate of mine, had a white one with black trim and all the wog trimmings of the day.
The only one I ever remember, except in the dealers..... not ac raging success.

Played Shadow all the way to my work with one exactly the same as this today, A 1959 Ford Galaxy LHD .. Looked like it was brand new off the showroom floor it was that tidy, Only difference was it had a very healthy big Cammed V8 donk rumbling away under the skin.
