Not good, we got cut... They needed 250 to 300 cars and ended up with 600.
In the end, they either had a better car, better colour...maybe black.... or whatever it was.

It worked out ok in the end, I underwent some stomach surgery on the 3rd of March, so maybe for the better.
Nothing serious with the surgery, just normal Shit.

I've been going through some old pics during the iso thingy.
My old Zephyr back in 1984... pretty cool thing.

250 falcon powered with a C4 auto.

In the early 80's, I had a go at building my first Custom Car.

Way too many mods, but it was the time when customs were king.
I always thought it was a bit fugly in the end..... but I kind of like it these days.

Ran 302 Windsor, C4, 3.5 diff gears, went 14:06 @ 99.98 mph.... pretty tuff for 1982.

Sister inlaws dad had a couple of Ford Zodiac sedans, A pasty two tone blue and a two tone salmon pink ..
The first car other than the VW pick up,  I can ever remember riding in was our little old pale blue  Zephyr 4 noddy type one .. The old man packed us kids up,  hooked the  Zephyr   up to a 10' / 12' rough old bondwood caravan and took us on the road traveling Australia.

Same car from behind.
Not quite finished here, no rear bar,  fuel filler or radio aerials.

Not too sure if I ever posted the Datsun 1200 or not.

Very few race cars had a nitrous purge system... as for street cars.... never.
We always ran an open bottle of nitrous on the street.
If someone wanted a run, we would purge the system, dry hop the left front wheel and then race.
On more than one occasion, the other car just sat there and didn't move.  8)

:cup:     Pretty much that is it Geoff, think ours was a light green colour, memories a bit vague on that. Our van didnt have a side window on the road side,  there was an internal galvanised water tank bolted to the wall in that spot, from memory the sink was a galvanised dish that sat on the bench, front couch and single rear bed, A fold down table off a shallow wardrobe door ..
My bed was the front couch, older sister had the rear bed, two brothers slept on a home made 1/2" water pipe and spud bag double bunk bed  and dad was on an old Army  stretcher on the annex floor . Later we got a VW Kombie that my older brother drove, So both my brothers slept in that.. He drove that for nearly two years before he decided he better get his licence . ;D
Think our Zephyr was a bit smaller than that one, thinking that one is a six cylinder could be wrong .
Interestingly the bloke we sold the van too, told us years later,  that when he ended up wrecking the van at the local tip { it was rotted out ] when he broke it up,  about 300 pound worth of old money fell out of a wall .. Wished we knew that much money was hidden in it . We were flat out rubbing two coins together most times .

I was probably on the back seat of those Zephyr's when the photo's were taken.... ;D ;D

My dad sold the red Zephyr to buy the blue one....a decision he came to regret. The red one was a better car, but he didn't find that out until later.
He used mum's severence pay to buy it, and she never let him forget it....

Both were 6's. Zephyr 4's were actually called Consul's.

My dad built that caravan, and another after it. Mum said she virtually didn't see him for a year....

How cool is that ..  :cup: Yep remember our little car blew a couple of head gaskets then cracked the head ..
An old Army mate of dads knew of a wrecked one laying in the scrub [ had crashed and been left for weeks ] So a night time visit and returned with a replacement cylinder head, lap the valves in, Silver frost head gasket refresh a couple of BBQ's n beers,  two days later we were off to continue our travels  ..

Yep

Paid $7000 for it.

In 1986!
Hmmmm,
Awesome.
Nice Ride, jealous, very.
A mate had one, sold it to buy a house, if he had kept it, could have bought the street by now :)
