Just a heads up, I have just taken out insurance on my Camper Trailer with Cub 4x4, Pat Callinans mob. They were over $400 cheaper than the next quote with the same cover. They also do cars.

Good to hear they are as competitive wit campers as they are with cars. They were a load cheaper when I was insuring my LandCruiser so I went with them. Will definitely be getting a quote from them for caravan insurance when we pick ours up early next year.

Just found this post again.
I'm looking for insurance for our caravan that we pick up this weekend and was searching the forum for any pearls of wisdom as to who to use.

I've had a quote from NRMA & CIL that were both about the same so one of them is looking odds on favourite (any advice as to which offer the best policy would be greatly appreciated).
Also got a quote from Youi who were about 50% more expensive and then got a quote from Club 4x4 (who I insure the car with) and they were 2.5 times what I was quoted from NRMA/CIL.......bargain!

3rd time lucky

Youi, like any insurance company, will be dearer depending on your individual circumstances.  I put our van & 200 with them but not our other car.  One thing they have is only 1 excess if claiming when towing - most insurers treat an accident whilst towing as 2 separate claims (at least this was the case when I started my current policy - will check at renewal time).  They were hilarious when I priced our Mazda 3 - they were $50 dearer for comparable policy but the sales rep on the phone could not understand why I would not want to insure with them, "just to have all insurances with the one company" lol - like that matters!  Paid over the net its no issue at all.  I asked the rep if he would give me the $50 out of his own pocket, at which point negotiations ceased. Funny that. Had CIL before Youi - cant really comment on any of them as have never had to claim, and I guess that's where the truth comes out.  Policy Pprice means precisely zero if claiming is a world of hurt.
