Hi all

We are thinking of upgrading to a pop top.  Yeah. I hear you "bickie dippers".  We have narrowed it down to 2 after going to the show today. We liked both but the Goldstream seems to be a better build. Ug was picking faults in the Jayco while we were talking to the salesman. He could find none in the Goldstream. The Goldstream has bigger solar, better heating and cooling and a few other things. There is however quite a substantial price difference.
Do any swaggers have either of these or any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Vicki and Graeme.

Goldstream, my qualifications to that are I have owned 3 Jaycos and my mate has a Goldstream.

Depends how long you want to keep it for. Goldstream will cost you more and will drop in value rapidly compared to the Jayco.

Goldstream are generally regarded as the better/more durable product compared to the Jaycos.

Probably the major thing the Jayco has that really outdoes the Goldy is resale value. If you are considering selling/upgrading in the next 2/3 years I reckon I would easily live with the Jaycos shortcomings for the much, much better resale.

What's the pricing if you don't mind posting? Some Jaycos have sneaked up and when we looked at the Goldstream in May they now make models more than customs and their pricing was a lot more competitive than say 2 yrs ago and more features like gas heating an inclusion.

The pricing we got was on the show vans only. Jayco was around $44k and the Goldstream $64k.

The Starcraft is the one I originally wanted to look at. Ug liked the bigger one though. I would be happy with the Starcraft. It's usually the women who want more us t it? Lol.

I say nothing!!!

Yeah but $20k buys you a lot of screws and glue and brackets and stuff and you'd only be bored poopless with what's on telly instead of having something to do-

There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

It's probably a men's shed thing with Jaycos. You're either into it or you're not and Goldstream buyers aint-
