Here's the thread to post up your thoughts, highlights and lowlights. I'm interested to see if there's any improvement in the Aus swim team this year.

Same. They're a yawn now. Too many "sports" that have no place being there.

They ****ed it by making only professional money people and no longer for amateurs... aren't there enough world championships and stuff for pros??

Then fill it with stupid sports, like golf and that Shit where you see half a dozen feet hanging out of the water spinning round.. ****in riveting "sports"

Me on the other hand think the Olympics are great, I will be watching as much of it as I can.

Was watching an interview with Jessica Fox on channel 7 on the weekend. Fantastic to see a young person who is not only dedicated to her sport but is down to earth, able to conduct herself well, and give sensible articulate answers during an interview.

I will try to watch synchronised swimming.
That's because 3 of the coaches of my daughter are in the team.
They will not win anything, but it will be great to watch.

And they are amateurs, they are not earning anything.

Too many of the Olympic organisers happy to have their nest feathered and vote to include Shit sports.  If they get the Olympics back to including only the "pure" sports it may then be worth watching again.  How many Greeks in the 8th century teed up for a round of golf?  And how many practiced holding their breath for five minutes so the soles of their feet could get a suntan?

But then you have the sports that are high on excitement like the BMX racing.

We will be watching the sports we want to see. Bring it on I reckon.

To bolster more interest I think it should go back to the original Olympic way, i.e. all contestants with nil clothing. Definitely would be watching all the female sports.  :cup: :cup:

We have to start thinking about what sort of a world we are going to leave for Keith Richards after we are all gone.

Yeah, except that originally only freeborn Greek men competed - and watched!

In 2008 I was on the CSR while the Beijing Games were on. This year I will be on the Gibb River Road for most of Rio.

Not sorry in either case.

what has really turned me off over recent  years is the TV coverage. The Games seem to be a vehicle for the broadcaster to promote itself and its commentary "stars". If I was home I'd been watching with the sound off.

Australia have wasted their valuable time and money by selecting James Magnussen, just a total failure.

what's worse is they are going to blow another 100 million paying backhanders and corrupt ****ers bidding for Brisbane for the 28 I think I was
