Anybody seen the new off road MDC caravan?

Looks pretty sweet.

Would be interesting if they are 100% Australia made or imported.

It doesn't bother me either way, but I'd like to see the size of the container if it was just out of curiosity.

Bill

According to the salesman at last weeks show in Cairns they are prefabbed overseas and assembled here...

Looks nice,

MDC is definitely getting a very respectable range of trailers and vans. The Chinese campers seem to be following a similar path to Japanese motorbikes; cheap at first and refined to market leading products.

Cheers,

Salty.

Reckon you would fit about 8 chassis  flat packed in a 30 foot shipping container then bring the wall frames etc  flat packed in another  .. Would be interesting, might have to ask  !  ..

What is going on with the front window?  Looks like an imposed photo.

Not something that would attract me but assume it will appeal to some.

Seams a lot hey?

Not really as a tandem roady Jayco Sterling that size would cost $70k and it's an off-roader and may have all the bells and whistles like imported campers do for their price.

No Chinese offroad price = Jayco road price by the looks. Offroad rated campers and caras are always significantly dearer than their bitumen equivalents.

I don't know for sure but I would be surprised if that was the case, I'd say it's more likely they found a manufacturer already making them and modified/optioned it and branded to suit.

Starcraft are entry level but here's a used 21'6" offroader for sale for $69k where the seller claims new replacement cost is $90k and he'd be right for a well kitted tandem offroader around 22 foot-

Met a single bloke up the NW with some hoojah big offroader he reckoned cost him $140k so $70k is chicken feed in this offroad big stuff. Like the roadside stop where 1 bloke was busy underneath a brand new looking Merc Winnebago and I casually asked his missus if there was a problem and he needed a hand. Oh no he's just checking the water level as it's their first trip in it from Perth. Oh you bought it new quizzes I? No says she we got it for a bargain. Only $240k with 1500km on the clock says she gloatingly. Me gulp! thinking streuth they must be well over $300k new. Apparently the bloke that bought it new took it home proudly to show the missus their new toy for hitting the road and she told him point blank there's no way she was travelling in THAT thing! How the other half live eh?
