My wife passes the time camping by playing "mind games"

The rules are quite simple:

1. If your a male your always wrong

2. Males are expected to be mind readers

3. If by some fluke chance you think you may be right please refer back to game rule No 1.

4. When in doubt even if your not sure what your done wrong, just apoligies.

We usually take the Boche set, UNO, football, cricket set and the lap top has games on it.

Hi Group

I have one of those "tickle me speewa" dolls, I bought it keeps the kids amused for hours, and was hoping it would be alot more fun than the "tickle me elmo" dolls.

Few issues with these dolls those and a warning for us all :

The "tickle me speewa" doll makes my 2 year old child cry, and tremble in fear.

It was left outside once and the neighbours dog was caught humping it, emotionally scarred the neighbours had to put the dog down, and the RSPCA said that decision was an act of kindness and mercy for the dog.

The doll was taken to the rubbish tip, and tip staff threatened me with legal action in the Land and Environment Court if I tried to the dump it.

I tried to get rid of it online, and had enquiries from Alcaeda on ebay, so see if they could purchase it for acts of terrorism.

emotionally scarred by the whole experience

P.S. Why does everybody pick on Speewa, or is just me (Speewaphobia)

My guess is the sausage must be hidden right up the back of the fridge.....

Nah, it'll be in the freezer for sure.  Nothing like getting out some stiff beef snags for a cookup at breakie!

We haven't taken games camping for ages - we've usually been too busy doing nothing! Time to change that!

But years ago, Mrs Yoda spent a week on Fraser Is with a tropical depression (the weather, not the company!) and we played Pictionary for hours, it was a hoot!

I'm a bit how ya going with Scrabble, but love a variation called Take Two. You don't need the board, just the tiles, and it's a game of speed. Players take 7 letters, then you make your own words with the letters, the aim being to get rid of your letters first, and make everyone, including yourself, take two tiles. You can redo the words you make at any time. You just need a biggish table! Always good to make people take two when they've just mucked up their own scrabble board and need to race to make new words!

Boggle is good too, if you like word games. Just about to do an eBay search on Pass the Pigs, I remember that one from years ago!

Hi All

We take Scrabble, cards, dominoes, and if the weather is good, there is always badminton in the camper. There are always books to be read as well. We find it hard to find the time for games, so the only time they come out is in the event of bad weather, or very cold. Michael

We recently picked up a game called Greed, which is a dice game with reasonably complex rules but its really good.

Its either Greed, Yahtzee, Uno or poker depending on how many people we have.

On a recent trip I taught my 4 nephews  how to play poker and Yahtzee...I think they were a little miffed that there was no soundtrack or animations, but in the end they really liked the idea of an analogue gaming experience.

There is one game (which we have 3 variations of) that really tests the limits of marriage called Blokus, you have fixed shape tiles (thing tetris) that need to fit on a grid board. We have the small version, the full version and the triangle version, and it seems that males just plain suck at the strategy side of this game. I think I have only beaten my wife twice out of about 50 games, and its a similar trend with my in-laws and sisters etc.

The duo version is good to keep in the CT, and it makes the missus happy to win something all the time ;)

Hi All,

We take 2 pack of cards, UNO, Dominos, and my sister gave me an electronic version of pictionary 2 yrs ago for christmas, and lots of books and magazines (usually 4wd & camping ones). We also have 2 dogs so they take up plenty of time swimming.

We also have 2 player Checkers on our phone for snuggling up in bed.

I'm surprised how many UNO players there are, I thought we were the only ones! Scrabble is also one we don't leave home without.

We take UNO Attack, Scabble, Cards and a timber box called 7 in 1 compendium games in a timber box.
It has Checkers, Chess, Snakes & Ladders, Backgammon, Tic Tac Toe.
The kids love it.
You don't use magic to disappear, all you need is a 4wd & a Swag ;)

GS

if hide the sausage wasn't packed  ;D Trouble is always fun.

Pressing the die popper in a quiet campground "click clack" is always a worry though

Monopoly now has a card game version. It's our favourite at the moment. I don't like the board game because it drags on so long and Scott is too competitive. He's still competitive but the card game is faster so we don't have to put up with him for so long  ;D

There is a game I use to play years, called "Uckers" and another called "Asshole", I use to play this when I was a "Birdie" at "Tross", during "SCRAN" and out of habit, kept playing it when I paid off.

Dont you just love navy lingo.

Uckers (game) ?
Asshole (game)?
Birdie ?
SCRAN ?

I bet there is a few people on this site who know what they mean....  : )

Our Ukkers board comes camping with us every time. The game originated somewhere on Navy submarines and amongst our group has a reputation as "the shouting game".  Loads of fun and can be played by 2, 3 or 4 people.  We made our own custom-designed Ukkers board using photos from our camping and windsurfing trips all around the country.  Every time we play, we can look back at the photos and remember all the great trips.

Will try and find a better pic of the full game.
