Not withstanding the season of giving I am trying to work out how the blugger you can secure the ALKO Offroad Hitch when not attached to the ute..... I've looked and tried the generally available locks with out success..... Any suggestions much appreciated......

I have the same hitch with the same query!

I will make a modified version of those generic hitch locks, basically just making it longer so it fits over the hitch side swivel mounts.

Sorted... I spoke with ALKO rep and they recommend a long shank padlock with is inserted thru the top of the two plastic levers. When you look closely you will see three holes which you can line up and then insert the padlock shank,  essentially locking the two plastic levers together and preventing the hitch ball cup from being opened. Tried it and it works....

Sorry. No picture at the moment but will post later...

These levers, are they plastic or plastic over steel?
Just plastic could be easily sorted with just the saw on a multi-tool.
Not having an Al-ko handy, it's a bit hard to visualize.
