Evening all. My folks are flying in (to Brisbane) from abroad for a visit over Xmas. I would like to take my son, father and brother on a boys camping trip for a few days before Xmas, leaving on Saturday the 19th of December and getting back the 24th. We don't like big crowds or caravan parks, and don't mind wild camping (we are self sufficient). I would really like my father to get a taste of Aussie camping. Any suggestions?

We'll be on Straddie from the 18th Dec to 2nd Jan, stop in and say hi   ;D   it doesn't get much more Aussie than that  :cup:

I was wondering about Straddie. How busy is it (or Moreton for that matter), the week before Xmas?

There'll be quite a few people there but I don't think you'll find too many quiet spots that close to xmas, we were there last xmas....... it was busy but not a pain in the arse busy !!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Our trip has been cut short by a couple of days, so this has made us look at closer destinations. So I've booked the ferry to Moreton. Now I can't wait to go.
