Just looking for a little support from fellow swaggers.

My 16 year old lad is embarking on a music career. Still in the early stages and a long way to go. Please have a listen to the attached original song that he recently performed for Balcony TV in Cairns. He actually wrote this song when he was 14 . If you like please press the button and it will assist in raising his profile.   Cheers.

McTavish

He's got talent mate.
Hopefully he likes the comparison - but he has a bit of an Ed Sheeran ish feel to that song.
Pretty good timing and pitch up till the last little section.
Some friends who teach music seem to be consistent in their message that voice lessons no matter how talented one is are essential.
You must be proud...   Congrats.

Ah the old Alice Cooper.
Remember watching Department of Youth on the Saturday morning music shows before heading off for under 11's rugby league fixtures.
So many good albums around during the seventies.

Downloaded the latest Trace Adkins album (Something's Going On) on a whim yesterday. Different to his older stuff, but like practically everyone in country music they've all evolved to some country-meets-pop style. Not complaining about it though - still a decent album!

Anyone got any recommendations for GOOD modern country? I feel like I need to update my collection with something a little fresher, but I'm a sucker for the good old sounds of Brooks & Dunn, George Strait and the likes...

You can take the girl out of the country... ;) Hubby hates country music, LOL.

I happened to be listening to Double J in the shed the other night, just for something different while I was packing the trailer for our trip away next week.
This special on 30 years of RAGE made me stop, sit down with a beer and realize how much music was brought into my life by this program. I had no idea that it was born so organically.

Watch 30 years of RAGE

I don't know if there where any other young teenagers like me, but remember that I would call the programming hotline on Friday afternoon and listen to the whole set list that was planed for the weekend.
I'd note down the blocks of music that I wanted to hear, sometimes it was a couple of hours that interested me, sometimes it was most of the night.
If I had footy or something on the next day and I couldn't stay awake all night, I'd program the VCR to record the hours that I wanted.
Otherwise I'd set up the mattress in the lounge room and feast on the wild variety of music that they played.

Growing up in a small country town that only had two AM radio stations (one played songs from the 50s they other songs from the 70s) RAGE was my window to the big wide world of music.
I still listen to so many different songs and artists today that I only discovered because of that show.

Jools Holland Small World Big Band
He always gets a stellar line up, and his regular backing singers of Ruby Turner and Sam Brown are fab IMO.
