Looking at adding shelving/racking in the garage to make room (new camper), looking at the attached type of racking interested if anyone would recommend a supplier they have had dealings with in (Vic)

A lot on ebay etc but appreciate if someone knows through experience who are the better to deal with looking at around 5m in length and 2m H

Pete,

I've just done one wall in our garage with this stuff, it's pretty crappy and cheap but does the job ok for at home, the uprights are very light but seems ok.

As long as you don't want certified they're all pretty much the same. The only real difference is wood or metal shelving. I'll see if I can find the place I bought mine from. Oh and it comes in 2m spans, so you may not be able to find 5m.

Edit - This is where I got mine from http://stores.ebay.com.au/Costless-Warehousing

I looked into something like this when I was fitting out my shed, I cant recall 100% but I though it was a little expensive at the time....I could be wrong, Ebay sounds as though it may be cost effective now....in the end I built timber shelves, I used the existing shed frame work and built of this and it worked out awesome....from memory I think it cost me around $200 for the timber and other bits and pieces....best part was a mate and I had a great couple of days building it and my work bench....maybe throw it up yourself.....

I have 1 bay of Dexion shelving - awesome stuff, but even second hand it's expensive.

Also have 1 bay from Cosco (was a cheaper than bunnings).

Biggest issue is the depth of the shelving.
Cosco / bunnings / cheap stuff on eBay is often only 60cm deep.
If you want deeper than that you'll need to buy ex- commercial shelving.

The bunnings stuff is rated the same as anything else and has a good hard wearing texture.
Its avaliable in 600 x or now 400 w and 900,1200,1800,or 2400  high.
Theres better around if you want to drop pallets on it with fork hoists but its rated way past it's intended purposes witch gives me peace of mind.
Around 200kg a shelf

I bought some proper pallet racking from a dude on ebay that's in Bayswater... he had a warehouse of different sizes... and worked on cash too....

Stirdy as can be...

We used the Longspan Shelving from here http://www.unirack.com.au/

We got 2500 x 2400 x 600 with 4 shelves, as we have a high garage height. They do a 2400 wide so you could get your 5000 almost.

Found it to be really good quality and i use the 2 shelf as a workbench. Was delivered the next day.

I used Bunnings stuff. From memory it worked out about $50 a shelf. I used a full 1800x600x16 mm MDF piece from the timber department, rather than their 2 piece shelves to avoid a join.
600 deep fits most things, esky, Waco and plastic tubs.

You need to have all the feet the same level as it locks in squarely. Also the shelves sit about 50mm from the rear wall so that you can adjust the rail height if needed.

I used these guys in Bayswater

They were close to me and reasonable prices,  the shelves come in various sizes and seem quite strong

Standard Dexion rails are 2.6 metres long, there's a place in Kitchen Road Dandenong called B R or B & R Storage that I have used before, they sell new and second hand but as said earlier it's not cheap

Yep. Got mine from the same place. It does the job....

I found when I went to their premises that they have more length and height combo's than shown on the web site.
