Evening Gents and Gentette's,

I am after some no holes bar feed back please. We were looking at an MDC then we seen the Black series. We have seen mixed reports on both. The Black Series seems to be standing up better feedback wise. However; you people are the people who use this gear everyday. Your feedba,c is appreciated.

Cheers

Good luck with the choice.

The company you mentioned selling the Black Series (that we are not allowed to mention) held a FB competition rewarding people if they left good feedback about their CT's on the website called Product Review as the feedback for this company was mostly negative.  I would only read or acknowledge comments by people that have the words"Verified Purchase" against their comments and perhaps ignore all others.
Most 4wd or camping forums received a legal letter that all feedback be removed from their applicable websites.
Up until a little over 12 months ago, the reviews weren't the best. Good luck with your decision.

Interesting. I just googled that name we can't mention. It appears that URL doesn't exist anymore and that it re-directs somewhere else...

If you call them they answering machine says some thing like "Welcome to GIC, home of the Black Series Camper Trailers..."

In my hunting around I've found 4 retailers that sell GIC spec campers and none seem to have many bad reviews. Makes me think its more about customer service than it is about the product.

Join the MDC owners group on fb and see what actual owners have to say about them and where they take them. Currently the mdc appears to be using later generation trailers and heavier canvas (16 oz) at the moment - next week that will change no doubt, such is the world of importing. The modcon is the same trailer as the mdc just different stickers.

Not correct in the slightest.

Just to clarify, The Modcon FF1 is most certainly not the same camper as an MDC. They are built in completely different factories, assembled by different people and are constructed off vastly different designs.
The only comment I am prepared to make about an MDC ff camper is that apart from the fact they both fold forward, they are different. Modcon forward fold campers are designed by Modcon in Brisbane. If you compare an FF1 to the fully Australian made HFD or Elysium you will see allot of the design elements from those in the FF1.
The bed base (lid) is different, the main door is different, the kitchen is different, the fridgebox area is different, the inside area is different, the tent is different, the pole structure and set up is different, the chassis is different. Even the Jerry can holder is different etc etc.

Feel free to compare campers as much as you like, but please don't make blanket statements that are actually untrue.

didn't think so and glad you cleared that up
I have your vendors thread also open ATM trying to figure if a FF1 tent could possibly be put onto the top of a travel trucks style camper on a daily 4x4

That's ok. Hard to not come across as rude,  but incorrect statements don't help anyone unfortunately.
In regards to the tent section fitting on that style of set up. It is certainly possible.  I would suggest possibly rethinking though as your total height would be huge when open. The tent section is nearly 2m high at the peak, so add that to the height of your 4x4 at roof line and you would be tipping 5m I'd say. It would be hard to open anywhere near a tree or under cover. Unless I misunderstood?

Wrong again fool. They are all Chinese trailers. Only an idiot couldn't see that. I tried them all before I bought one. What skin have you got in the game?
If they are different it isn't by much.
Apologies to modcon, but if you want to set your trailers apart you'll need to do better. Your rear fold was cheaper but I didn't buy it. Good luck in the future.

???????
Not sure why the aggression,  but this post doesn't help anyone in anyway.
I'm not sure how you "tried" a Modcon as I know of no hire units anywhere.
Just to clarify are you referring to rear fold or forward fold?
