No. It's currently not compatible with Edge.

Great, thanks John. An interesting read. Looks like they are working on this and will have things available in the near future. :D

I upgraded last week and didn't have a problem....

Until this arvo when I attempted to edit some video with Windows Movie Maker... No go  >:D  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows-10/movie-maker-is-not-available-in-windows-10

Had to go on the search for a an alternative and found Filmora, which is great, spent the arvo learning to use it and edit some video to find out it puts a dirty big watermark on your videos. Anyway I'm happy with the software and it usability so was happy to register and pay, just a pity Windows Movie Maker no longer works.

Saw mention that Windows Media Centre has been removed from 10 as "no-one uses it anymore"  ???

Is that the same as WM Player?

Is there any program there to sort & play music?

Interesting, I upgraded to Win10 and still have Movie Maker from the 8.1 install, and it works on Win10...

Seems I'm with about 100,000 other people who have installed win10 but can't activate because the activation key is not accepted by windows..

But if you purchase windows, they'll give you a new one .........not a chance in hell..

YAY!

QuoteConsumer groups have slammed Microsoft for its policy of forced updates for Windows 10, which is hitting customers in remote locations with massive bill shock by blowing out their data caps.

But they warn bill shock may affect many more customers, regardless of where they are located. And, with many customers yet to receive their monthly internet bills, the full extent of the problem may not yet be apparent.

... According to digital rights group Electronic Frontiers Australia, one internet user in the Cook Islands, an autonomous region associated with New Zealand, has already racked up a $NZ600 ($532) internet bill for the month of August, thanks to Windows 10.

... To add insult to injury, Microsoft has confirmed it is hijacking users' internet connections to upload software updates to other users, through "peer-to-peer" technology.

YAY!

interesting, considering that windows 7 (by default, unless changed) was using the exact same behaviour... so no difference...

once again, no-one is forcing anybody to upgrade to windows 10.... not sure what the problem is.

I never saw windows 7 start an automatic 2.7GB download..

not sure what the problem is.

Problem is, unaware punter clicks on link to reserve their copy of windows 10. So far so good. When Microsoft deems it is ready for that particular user it pushes the download, ready or not. That's when the fun starts. The punter has NO control over this download and can't stop it once it's started. Stiff bickies if your data is already at the limit for this period..
Cheers, John.

starts with updates enabled by default...  the amount may change, but the concept is the same... as soon as you do a fresh install of windows 7, updates start coming down...

perhaps users should take some responsibility for finding out the pros and cons of an OS install?

'micro$oft' and 'windoze' is the devil, i get it....

MrCruza

Problem is Microsoft are maketing / pushing this in a way that cons the average punter. Most people don't know any better and aren't tech savvy enough to care.

You can stop a download of Win7 updates anytime you want. You CAN'T stop the Win10 download once it starts.
Cheers, John.

Pros/cons??  Its all good for IT savvy people... but we have people at work that struggle to open links on the Intranet - serious.. and a couple of them are in their 40's in senior positions.

We have had 2 see this pretty little icon on their laptops down near the clock... oh yes lets play..  and dance with the Devil so far. All good and well, but some of our Lab instruments wont work on Windows 7..

Maybe you need to think outside the square a touch more, not everyone is IT knowledgeable - no matter how much we know they should be in this day/age....
