The frostiest for me was when I got home a little late after a BIG night and slept on the front verandah, it was frosty in the house for a few days as well  ;D

Bloody hell - and I thought my -2 at Bents Basin last weekend was cold.  Thin nylon tent, but nice tarp over the top kept the inside of the tent around 8.  Not my idea - my son wanted to go ...  :-[

Minus 4 at Burraga Dam a few yrs ago......big fire and 2 doonas, meant the only cold bit was getting from the fire into bed.

Heading off to Mexico tomorrow, so we'll see how cold it gets down there ??

Mt Lovick about a couple of months ago. In a bit of a cutting between Lovicks and Bluff huts. Both huts were occupied and it was snowing lightly. The wind howled over us like the sound of 10 x 747's. The next morning the brakes on the 4b's were frozen so when we moved off they let out an almighty bang. Scared the bejesus out of me til I realised what it was.

A swag  Hahh I wish I'd had one, Long long ago in the Green Machine on exercises out around Singleton ... there was a bunch of young diggers from the northern parts that only had a blowups nylon case [ used to contain 3 twin tubed blow up PVC air matress ] a thin corse blanket and silk as sleeping issue, needless to say temps got below freezing so it was on with the one spare change of uniform and socks [ on hands ] a howard green jumper and a coats man field then wrapped up in a Hutchie  at night..
Reckon I dam near shattered my teeth shivering that much those nights, several days  before the end of the Ex  a mate transfered into our section " Herb Singh " and his wonderfull white lightening [ a form of home made alchohol from banana's ]  filled waterbottles got us through the rest of the cold ..

yes dear

6 years ago at O'Connell near Tarana.
In a tent -7, sheets of ice on the inside tent roof.
Couldn't walk on the grass the next day till 9.00 as the frost was so slippery.
and
When I was a young block stayed at Saw-pit creek in snow season in my Kombi pop top.
Snowed so hard that the roof closed on me and the girlfriend in the middle of the night.

Both bloody cold experiences

Bendethera 2006. -9 in a nylon tent with +5 sleeping bags.
Wife ended up wearing all clothes she'd taken away with her.
Wanted a coffee in the morning but couldn't make it as (a) the cups had frozen to the table and (b) so had the kettle, so we couldn't boil water to defrost the cups.

Fortunately the fire was quick to start and we managed to get defrosting water using it.

This was an overnighter last winter we did into the snow, up the top of Mt Selma in the Vic High Country. Don't know how cold it was, but when I woke up I had a layer of ice on the inside of the swag from the condensation... Was bloody cold, but hoping to do t again this season :)
