Hi all,

I am about to get my first camper and after working everything out, I'm simply not able to store it at home. Ill need a new house - which is an option  ;D

I have heard that there is a company called $1 a Day or something to that effect in Lara (west of Melbourne towards Geelong) that has storage facilities.

I am not able to find any info on google. Does anybody know anything about this or a contact?

Thanks

Byron

No but there's one in grovedale down off barrawarre road I think. Where are you located?

I'm actually in Point Cook which is only about 20/30 minutes from Lara so when I heard about that, that seemed pretty convenient and a good option.

Thanks :)

??

I cant see anyone doing it $ a day... would never cover insurance... even $20/day - $20/week sounds cheap to me...

x 2 what Bird said.

I would think the old phrase being " Prices from $1 per day" would be their catch cry!

I know a mate of mine was initially paying $20 per week for a site somewhere around Coomera

Could've risen by now.

There is a van storage place on Baccus Marsh Rd   It's only a couple of km's from Elco park heading towards Geelong on your right. It usually has a van or two for sale in the front yard.
I just used google earth and it is between Apollo Dve and Houston Rd. If you use street view you can get their number off the sign on the front fence. From what I could read without my glasses it does say "$1 a day". Hope this helps.

Edit: just found my lookers , the place is caravan and boat storage. PM me if you want the ph numbers. I'm not sure if I can post them here or not.

Well done Bird , that's the place.

The fine print can't be too bad as there are a heap of vans parked there at the moment. You can see most of them from the road but I'm sure it's secure. They usually have a coffee van in the front yard too.

They have one over here in WA the fine print is that there is no insurance you have to ring CIL or whomever and provide the storage address as the new garage adress

We keep the van at a large storage firm, with heaps of security etc, for much more money than that.  They still want you to ensure the insurance company has them down as the garage get address.  It is normal procedure, and the insurance company treats it as routine.

Check the access options.  There are a couple of cheaper places here, but you can only access your van by prior appointment or within very limited hours.  Not good if you want to pre-pack and then go and pick it up at dawn for an early departure.

Hi all,

That is the place. I got their number earlier from a neighbor who has been there. Its $1 a day for sure. Apparently they are awesome, you have to ring up an hour before you want to collect and give them an hour notice before you drop it off.I tried calling but couldn't get through and then the day got away from me slightly :)

Very safe as they live on the property with security, several dogs, cctv etc.

Ill need an awesome cover to protect the trailer but if that's my option, then that's what it will have to be!

This site is sensational with all the info that people assist with and give. Brilliant!

Have a good night all!
