Auto stop tap?

Hey all,
Was in the midst of getting things ready to start installing an external push/pull type hand pump to use for hand cleaning etc when on the road or just at camp without making a mess in the tent areas. Now the father in law comes over and starts sticking his nose in asking questions, having used these before and finding it a bit of a pain to wash both your hands when you need one to use the pump.
So seeing as though I have the 12v pump for the kitchen, he suggested using one of those auto stop taps that timed to turn off after a matter of seconds and are regularly used in public toilets etc.

What are everyone's thoughts on using something along these lines and the durability of it long term?? Not sure if 3sec or 7sec would be the ideal timing to get.

Already have a gravity feed tap at the rear, but have to open the tailgate everytime you want to use it, plus when set up, it's right in the middle of the kitchen area and having very young kids, I think trying to keep water away from high traffic area is going to be a priority as Im not too keen to have mud etc tramped thru the tent all the time.

Hmmm, one point to really ask the question now huh.... didn't think of this one.
Going to try and nip down to the local plumbing store during the week and see if they have one. Here's hoping it's not going to cost me a fortune. Can then dummy a pressurised line up and see how it works before I go drilling holes in the trailer for fitment.

If you are going to the trouble of plumbing in a pressure tap, what about just using a small flick tap. Flick up for on, down for off.  Keeps it all pretty simple

Normally I'd have used a standard tap, but having young kids(as well as many others we camp with too) trying to minimise the chance of them dumping a heap of water on the ground if we're not watching them 100% of the time.

OK so Im definitely NOT going down this road!! Went to the local plumbing store this arv to ask about these taps.... said it should still work at low pressures so rang up for a price as they don't stock them.... Nearly fell over when he told me $237... Ummm no thanks champ, the old school push/pull plunger type will work just fine! haha
