England could declare without facing a ball, then bowl out Australia again before scoring the winning runs just after tea........

All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.

As predicted.... Clarke holds Johnson back... Hazelwoods first over was a pile of crap, with no pressure on the batsmen.

Agreed!
The Poms should be ashamed of themselves inflicting that kind of punishment on what are supposedly friends.  ;D

it's been said many times that you never judge a pitch until both teams have batted and bowled on it.

australia's batting technique is just rubbish and our bowling is just not at the right line and length...

some of the shots played by aussie batters were grade cricket class...

when mitchell starc is your front line fast bowler, something is wrong...

geez, we miss ryan harris (and peter siddle for that matter)...

Moggy

Thinks there's something mentally wrong with the whole team.
Probably bring back Watson, Haddin & Siddle for a fairwell test before some wholesale changes this summer. (Though why they would want to be part "that" team i dont know)
The day 1 score is just embarrassing for Australia

Pretty simple really, the batsmen didn't adapt to the conditions, they went too hard at the ball rather than waiting for it to come to them, and the bowlers couldn't hit the right spot.

I agree. No patience to see out the new ball and conditions. A couple of mean balls but the rest were their own errors. And we pay these guys a motza. I;d keep Smith and Rogers and sack the rest of the batsmen.

Rogers might not play much longer if they go to day/night tests. A shame I would like to see more of him. Clarke should of gone at the end of world cup and when he did come back during that from injury Smith should of kept the captaincy.

trouble with smith is that he made a s**tload of runs on flat tracks, but when the ball moves, his 'unorthodox' technique gets him in trouble... he doesn't have a backup plan.  the 'shot' he played when he got out was disgraceful.  his feet were outside leg stump...  on that track, that's a leave any day of the week in the first session of a test...

it's about time more pitches in australia were developed with more grass on them (like the gabba) so our shield players get experience batting and bowling on them...

To that point, I think Johnson left the most and had the most patience.

dead right.

this aussie mindset of 'attack at all costs' is just moronic on pitches that move around...

paceman

i guess they can't play 'a broad'...  :D
