Looks like Holden are bringing out a Sandman themed Commodore for a while. Pity it's not a full panelvan though! I think the ute versions will sell much better than the wagon though.

much prefer the 'sandman' moniker than 'maloo'...

they should stick with the sandman... :)

Bird

Sorry but that's a very poor try hard effort...

Fail.

PS.. also agree - sandman is much better... but then look at most car names these days.. The Nissan Squashy or what ever it is...

Poor effort with the wagon Holden. I'm sure buyers who want a Sandman to relive their childhood would pay an extra $5k or whatever for a proper modern day version of the old panel van.

Agree. Total fail especially the wagon. Just trying to cash in on a classic before Holden dies.

So Holden bang some cheap stickers and bad interior in a station wagon and call it a 'Sandman'...

Trailer Bloke

Won't last long just like the new monaro.

That would make it a Corvette Estate, not a Sandman. ;D

Far cry from the one my Aunt had.  Fond memories of summer holidays, road tripping with 2 adults & 6 kids sitting on the mattress in the back

Bring back the panel van

Just for you and it will be up for sale mid April

It's certainly ugly, but hey, it's a Commodore, it'll never be a 'something'  ;D

Slapping stickers on a car and calling it a Sandman, is exactly what GMH did in the 70's.

AFAIK, the only difference between a Kingswood van and a Sandman, HQ-HX, was factory gauges, wheels, floor shift, bucket seats and stickers for Sandman. All bar the stickers were options for Kingswood.

The Sandman was just a commercial vehicle with a 'Sports Package.' A set of wheels, seats, gauges and stickers. ;D

Same with Drifter and Sundowner.

True and today they fetch a nice price tag. I know its not in the league as the GTHO's or old Monaro's but still not bad, not many left.
