Just interested in what is generally being used under the floor on your soft floor campers. I want to protect mine plus reduce moisture on the camper floor for when you pack-up the camper. Was looking at using a suitable tarp for mine. Have heard of using marine carpet or even special matting such as Cgear etc.

Interested in experiences and recommendations in this.

I use a standard tarp under the soft floor and have a cgear for the under the annex.

Never had any issues with either and have been through some fairly terrible weather camping!! :-)

I use the Oztrail annexe matting.  Water doesn't get trapped between the floor and the mat, like it does with a tarp.  Can be rolled up if wet without any concerns, unlike canvas.  Easy to hose off if it gets muddy.

how does this stuff go with stopping dirt and stains on the bottom of the floor?  i like the idea of water not getting trapped...

If it has bucketed down and we are camped on dirt, we have had to give the bottom of the PVC floor a quick wipe as we packed up.  The Oztrail matting is porous, much like heavy duty shadecloth which has been edged and eyelets fitted for pegging down if needed.

Always used one piece of 75%  3.6m wide x by about 5m long shade cloth with one corner notched out to clear the trailer and pegged down to keep it firm, Running from under the tent section and out to under the awning  .

We use roof insulation that is about 10mm thick. Protects from sharp bits through the floor and makes it softer under foot. Also provides a thermal break in cooler weather

That silver stuff?  What sort of size?  Does it take up much room?

Similar to this http://www.kingspaninsulation.com.au/Applications.aspx

We have two sheets which cover the floor area and fold it in half which is then thrown under the soft floor cover last thing. It also provides a bit of protection to the canvas when packed up

Oztrail Ultramesh under, as you can put pegs in it and not cry as you would with a cgear.

Pretty sure its this one, I have had a few half rolls left over on jobs so I have not had to buy any of it, its not too cheap.

Oztrail Ultramesh for us also. Just got a second on so we can do the tent and additional kids room with one, and under the annexe with the other if needed.

A CGear mat under ours.   Had used a tarp originally, and it tended to stay a lot wetter even just from condensation.   If the CGear is wet, I don't try to dry it.  Just fold and roll it up as usual and it normally dries out by the time we set up camp again due to it and it's bag being mesh.
