They dammed the Thompson river in the high country near my baw baw  to build the reservoir for water security, flooding a pretty decent valley. There's a small hydro set up which feeds into the grid.

My in-laws are in the country club down there and said it was very wet at one end of the estate Balcombe creek in mount Martha looked pretty hectic also in the photos we were sent, we are living in the Wimmera at the moment and the river is charging now below the minor flood level but still loads of water running, lake Hindmarsh which is Victoria's largest natural lake hasn't had decent water in it for years and is around 30-40% full, it looks incredible.

If we keep getting this rain it might get a lick river is still running really hard which is great to improve the water quality long term.

"feels like" has been below zero several times today in Ballarat and hit a max of 3.1 at 3:30 this arvo....half hour later -4.3!!!!!
