also have recorded NHRA Top Fuel and Nitro FC.

I had it a few years ago just for this reason. Recorded 3/4 of season and gave up. Never found the time to watch a single Round  >:(
With enough horse power, sheer ignorance and a total lack of respect for your vehicle, you'll get through....

QuoteGeneral Motors' Asia-Pacific boss has confirmed the news Aussie sports sedan fans have long been dreading: the V8 is on its last legs.

Despite sustained demand for V8 versions of the Holden Commodore in Australia, GM executive Stefan Jacoby told Australian journalists in Frankfurt overnight that an affordable V8 was not in the company's product plans beyond the current SS model's exit in 2017.

"The brand cannot be the same anymore because the brand would die," Jacoby said of Holden continuing its long lineage of V8s.

"We lost half of our market share over the last 12 years. How can we continue that just to fulfil the demands of a couple of [buyers]."

Instead, General Motors will likely ask Aussie buyers to fork out in excess of $100,000 for the next-generation Corvette as a go-to V8. The sports coupe is widely tipped to become the company's future halo performance car, with Jacoby confirming earlier this year that such a model would eventually join Holden's portfolio. The cheaper alternative V8 option, Chevrolet's Camaro, is not set for right-hand drive – ruling it out of the equation.

As for the Commodore, Jacoby moved to assure Aussie enthusiasts that a viable sporty-flavoured alternative would exist beyond the current iteration.

"They will get exactly what they want, but in a different technology," he said.

Jacoby added about a turbocharged alternative: "I think so, I think technically that's definitely possible with a modern turbocharged technology, downsized technology.

We all know Holden is dead and if anyone believes the vehicles running around the V8 Supercars are anything like the production car you can buy from the dealer they are in for a sad day.

I've heard some nice sounding Porsches, screaming Ferraris and BMW's, but the sound of a big low revving V8 is something else !!   :cup:

Factory built / backed product does  nothing much more than to provide the race cars we have now  a silhouette of a body shape / size and a badge and $$$... So it doesnt matter if they run V8's in production cars or not ..

The V8's they have been running in them for years resemble nothing the have used on the road cars, except  for the fact they have eight cylinders

Love sprint cars.. I took my pommy mate last year, he laughed when I turned up with clear safety glasses to watch it ;D ;D. Wasn't laughing for long. Hahahahaha

Stadium trucks are awesome to, we just spent the day yesterday at the GC600, watching them fly through the air and lifting wheels powering out of corners, just awesome.

let me say first that I like the bloke.

Having said that, and from someone who has watched the touring car championship since 1977 and  him for twenty years, he can be too greedy with the kurbs, wears his tyres out because he chases too hard/over drives and I believe this has cost him a few championships.
I also believe that 888 knew they had to take some risks this weekend to get closer to Frosty and they may well have also been too greedy with car setup that may also have caused extreme tyre stress.

Just my opinion guys.

Cheers
