Two mistakes

1. Forgot to apply his handbrake
2. Attached recovery strap to his bullbar

Plus don't buy a sh1+e made alloy bullbar either. That welding didn't look to good.

With enough horse power, sheer ignorance and a total lack of respect for your vehicle, you'll get through....

achjimmy

Look at the (Lack) of welds when they pull the piece of bar out. Clear as.

Thanks Shane beat me too it.

Not surprised it failed when you see how fast they pulled it out. When submerged it would be about 5-6 tonnes and aerodynamic water dynamic as an anchor

Clearly not a quality Toyota owner like the one's I know

I agree, the bar looks 5hite.
Surely a tow truck driver would know better than to try and pull out this vehicle by the top of the bullbar especially being the vehicle weighs twice as much as it is full of water.

I like the way the news girl is standing just by the recovery as the car is coming out of the water and says that "No one was injured". The recovery wasn't finished yet and the ute was gonna get heavier.

As a Toyota driver I don't even bother with the handbrake, I just leave it in gear.  Toyota handbrakes are purely for decoration.
Do not PM me for technical advice - start a thread.

Ain't that the truth.
Even if you pull it on so hard it's touching the roof liner it still rolls when you put in the clutch....then again comodores are worse!

JD-120

you are doing it all wrong, the handbrake is for cornering ;)
Cheers

I don't use handbrakes, they don't make you go faster... :)

"For sale. Cheap hilux. Only done 1/4 nautical mile."

If you watch this ad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0EpbzPBkuw I reckon there is a good case for false advertising from Toyota. Perhaps the owner should make a warranty claim.
