I think one of the 4wd tv shows did lorella springs recently. Don't know the name of it but two blokes about 40, fit looking who wear the same branded light blue fishing style shirt. Never seen the show before but i enjoyed it more than most of the other 4wd infomercials.

Yep the show's All Four Adventure Burnsy and it's a ripper.
We enjoyed Lorella Springs even though we sheared a centre bolt on the rear springs of the fourby getting in there !
Rhett and the rest of the crew there were great  :cup:

The last 30km in to the station was one of the worst roads we have driven, made worse by our tired suspension. Worth it though. Oh and take your own booze if you can, the bar there is extortionate.

Sorry Mike, I, meant Rhett who owns the station and the guys who worked there. They helped me change the centre pin using one we found from off a car wreck around the place  ;D
Great campsite and some pretty rough tracks around the place

Wasn't a highway, but I certainly wouldn't say that ^ (when we did it)

Yes, but what would you expect?
Their prices were no different to the prices at Uluru, and Uluru is hardly remote.....

We were there in early September last year.  This was late in their season and was getting hot, some of the water ways and billabongs had dried up.  There were fires on the property that got quite close to the homestead area but this didn't seem to concern anyone.  We found Lorella to be  an outback experience rather than a station experience, which suited us.

We had a great time and would go again as soon as possible (earlier in the season next time).  The area arround the BBQ area is kept watered so it is nice and green, happy hour there is a good chance to meet with others and have a pleasant end to the day.  The best feature is the hot spring nearby.  The water temperature was perfect and a great way to spend some time. There are heaps of tracks worth exploring (about 600km I think) and the scenery was great.  Some other campers went to the fishing areas and reported good catches.

The facilities are at best basic and you need to fire up the donkey water heaters yourself for hot water.

At $20 per person per night it is not cheap but is a great place that is very relaxed with heaps to do.

I would highly recommend it.

As others have said..  Just go.

Drive carefully on the way in and just enjoy the experience . We were there 2 years ago and still talk about it.

We were there in the middle of last year. Definitely worth the drive in about a month before Alan. So,e great drives and the waterholes out on the property are amazing.

Have a look here for a bit more from our trip -  http://jaysea007-darwin.blogspot.com.au/2014/07/day-43-nudity-at-lorella-springs.html

Spewing that I didn't know about this place when we were up there in 2006.  Caught a segment about it from the Top of Dowunder show and really wished we'd gone. Think part of the episodes are on Youtube
