Another bike rack thread....

I need a typical towbar mounted type bike rack that can carry four bikes with minimal (hopefully zero) damage. The rack will be mounted to the front of the camper on trips but removable so I can use it on the back of the car at home, or remove at camp and attach to towbar for a day trip.

The rhino rack seems good, but I'm worried about damage to bikes. I just used a cheapie one I have and stopping the bikes from rubbing on each other causing paint damage proved impossible.

It needs to carry bikes from kids to adults mountain bikes, and road bikes as well.

I had a look at the Thule website but I'm after real life experiences with racks.

Opinions please:

Tried that. All I could find was threads on fitting racks to specific campers. I know there was one a few years ago but buggered if I know how to expand my search

Works well, especially for the price. Would have loved to get an ISI or gripsport carrier but they are $$$

Have a look at the Yakima. Good kit at a good price. Anaconda often have it on sale. Check with roof rack specialists on non advertised trade ins. I picked up a Thule super cheap that way.

The iSi is the one I remember seeing here a while ago; gee looks great. Can't justify the dollars to use three or four times a year.

The Berns beaks don't look anything special. Maybe a cheap website adds to that.
The pacific looks the same as what I have.

The torpedo looks alright. Not a great deal of info on the website. Wouldn't mind seeing that one in the flesh.

The Yakima also looks ok. I like the idea of having the wheels resting though as it looks like there is less chance for bikes to swing around.

Thanks for the options. Will have to do some more research...
