Hello everybody

On the grapevine, I came across this gem of information earlier today and thought it might be of interest to those who enjoy juice of the grape

TAHBILK WINERY WAREHOUSE SALE

SATURDAY 13th SEPTEMBER 2014

10 am till 4.30
.. .    ( but I don't think there will be too much left at 4.30 )

I was chatting with the cellar door staff who suggested that a 6 pack of reds will be marching out for $45 and whites $35
and to me that is a dead set bargain at $7.50 for a Tahbilk red

website http://www.tahbilk.com.au/

for those of you who know the Nagambie area will know of the great camping spot at Mitchell's Crossing on the Goulbourn River
for those of you who don't .. this is a great opportunity to make the 150KM trip from Melb CBD and enjoy a very beautiful piece of our wonderful state, see Black Caviar statue, wine tastings at Tahbilk, pop out to Mitchelton winery, 4x4 Mt Black and all round great company

below I have attempted to copy the spiel from the Tahbilk newsletter ...

Quote
This is the day that our Warehouse Manager loves because all of those small parcels of Bin Ends , Export overruns, damaged label stock and clean skins that she keeps tripping over are cleared!
Tahbilk, Dalfarras, Everyday Drinking, and "Other" labels from the broader Tahbilk Group portfolio will be on offer with the common theme being outstanding value!
End Quote

Speewa and I have decided that we will take the camper out for a run and stay the weekend out at Mitchell's Crossing so we would be delighted to have some company
PM me for directions

or just come up for a day trip !! Tahbilk is a lovely place to visit

i was there yesterday and sampled their current Red releases.

All are extremely immature wines. Need lots of cellar time.

But....what an amazing estate!

Depending on what you were into would point you in that direction . Did you walk through the cellars under the sampling room , well worth a look . Tahbilk has the oldest red wine grapes in the World , yes the World . At 168 years old & counting they are going strong . Well worth a look too
lm in ,  so who rill roll up ,  who knows  ??? but it will be fun  .  l will chuck in a load of wood as there is nothing out there  , But you can bring your own  .  :cup:

Typical north east red, needs a good 4 to 8 years to prevent ripping taste buds of your tounge!

Agree with Mace. Mmmmmm. Had a laugh back in 06 as wifeee and I were on a road trip to Melb and did not even know we were going to pass by. Saw the sign heading Sth at 4.50pm A quick handbrake turn (it was a company car so all good ha ha) and arrived at the Cellar at 4.56pm.  $350 spent in 4 minutes and one very heavy boot for the rest of the trip. Good excuse to find lots of BYO's

Wish we had more time there.
