With the new style of hybrids like the Exodus 14, Kimberley Karavan, Robust Evoke and Lifestyle AT12, would you class them to be exempt from "No Caravans" areas?

Depends on what they weight and it's height.......some camper trailers weight as much as a caravan or more.

If you know the area/track and the capabilities of your set up than go for it

The units I have mentioned weight wise are between 1700- 2500 kg. Height is similar across the board at a max of 2350mm.

chester ver2.0

I recon a simple rule is if it is wider than the tow vehicle and more than 1.5x longer than the tow vehicle it is classed as some sort of camper caravan cross over

Manufacturers badge them for a market but, Exodus 14, Kimberley Karavan, are clearly caravans.
It's a bit like a manufacturer calling their trailer 'off road', just a sticker to get a sale to a particular market.

Yeah it's mainly certain roads and ranges.
Do you have any issues accessing areas with your lifestyle AT, Gronk?

Except for the extra 3ft in height, the "van" is nearly the exact same measurements as my previous KK....so, no, not really....but lack of rearward vision does make it a lot harder to get into ( and out of ) tight places.

But everything is always a compromise  and I would never say it would go anywhere a KK would.....but where I do go, it's in a bit more comfort than the KK..

But I would have no hesitation taking it down a road that had a sign "advising" against caravans....but I have seen at least one sign that said no caravans ( which had a fine attached ), so I wouldn't in that case.
