This may have been raised before, but looking at the members list with a view to change username it was amazing th see how many have not posted at all.

I wonder should membership lapse after a certain period of inactivity ?

As there is no problems with space on the server and a profile doesn't take up that much space, why would you want to delete them due to inactivity.  There are numerous reasons why people don't post for a period of time, some times they log on and read.  Leave them there I say

Members with 12+months membership and minimal/zero posts dont irk me, members who join and their first (& sometimes last) thread & post is in the CT classifieds section however s#@t me to tears. We all have times where either we have nothing to add or just busy elsewhere.
A more interesting stat would be a list of time since last log in if that were possible. This might change your view: some of the so called zero posters may have logged in only yesterday whilst other members with 1000's of posts maynot have actually logged on for years.

Hi, I have been a member here since November 2012 and just recently made my first reply! I originally joined when searching something camping related (can't even remember what that was now) and have been happily reading ever since. I work horrendous hours, usually late nights, and when my working day is over I enjoy the wealth of knowledge shared here.

The other thing to remember is that you need to be a member to be able to PM, a lot of the showroom operators work on PM's and if your not a member then you cannot correspond with them.

I have been a Pradopoint member for a few years and have never made a post but the information is invaluable.
Also a member on a few surf forums and made only a few posts in a couple of years........I mainly visit those ones to find out about new boards and surf trips etc.

I don't think there is any problems with people not posting.

I have no problem with people lurking in the background.

I spent ages thinking of a witty name only to find someone beat me to it.  They registered years ago and last logged on 1 hour later!!

Something else I noticed

There is a lot of information on this site, when you search. A lot of people join, but then just search, until they get the courage to post. I lurked around for a while until I posted and ended up going to a My Swag meet and posted more often.  ;)

they could be stalking you oldmate.  C'mon lurkers, time to come out of the closet and share your stories.

My mum always said, "it's the quiet one's you have to worry most about".

Mind you, around here, it's the noisy one's that scare me most:-)
