Hey guys - I'm trying to put together a section in the mag with reader recipes - I'm putting together some decent prizes too - maybe not a fridge but as good as I can get. All you need to enter is a recipe and a picture.

Who's in? What do you want to win? Let me know and let's make it happen. A winner every month!

Mate - anything is good. I'm after camping stuff that other people can do, so simple is best!

My list of favourite simple camping recipes includes such one-ingredient-wonders as:
- beer
- marshmallows
- hotdogs on a stick

Not that simple...but somewhere between that and Jamie Oliver.

Idiot Chicken (It was named this after my teenage son stated Any idiot can make this)

3 chicken breasts with skin removed and cut in half
1 packet of French onion soup ( I use continental as I think it has better taste)
1 - 1.5 cans of coke.  (Must be coke, not diet coke and definitely not Pepsi.  The real coke sugar caramelises with the soup mix.

Place chicken in well oiled camp oven, sprinkle with soup mix and poor over the coke.  I often use two packs of soup and two cans of coke for more gravy.
Cook on moderate heat like a casserole for about 30 minutes.

Serve with mashed spuds and peas or alternatively with rice.  Bread for mopping up the gravy is always a hit. ;D ;D

Hi all
Just tried this last night

Couple of really big steaks (Texas t bones two inches thick is my preference)
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black peppercorns
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chilli flakes
2 tsp rosemary

Crush it all up, rub it all over the steaks 5 minutes before you put them over the fire/grill/bbq.
Cook it as you like it, if you use the above mentioned steaks they take 15 minutes either side for medium rare, plenty of time to fry up some taters as a side.
MMMMMM
