Rumor has it that a member is practicing cooking a roast while away this weekend.

With this in mind, there will be a roast competition on with 3 judges. I will give plenty of notice when it will be.

Start preparing / practicing  ;D

Rules are:

No packet seasoning

No packet gravy

Can be any cut of meet

Can be cooked by any method , weber , camp oven, pie warmer

The whole meal will be judged.

Everything must be homemade by either one person or a team of two ( I can see some arguments here )

Apart from the meal there will be points for presentation.

Contestants cannot be judges.

Judges nominate now and can also be intoxicated.

Nominations Now Open

Naturally I will be one of the judges and will be unbiased but can be bribed.

How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?  (Homer J Simpson).

As I'm not carrying any spares or food I'll put my name up for final two judging positions if that's OK!

Regards, OKA Chris.

Now that the judges are finalised I suppose we need to have some trial / practice for the competitors, maybe the 5 nights leading up to Elliot fall break would give both competitors and judges enough time to prepare and evaluate in the lead up for the MKR cook-off.

Awesome idea, but only one meal as a cook off, I reckon 2 meals is the go.....one say on the first few days of our trip, and this could be a yummy camp oven stew/casserole....and then a roast.....maybe on the tele track when we camp.....now that would be the go....that would mean we get to taste every bodies yummy recipe's twice.

Just think of the tasty stews that the crew would have cooked on previous trips, and be looking forward to cooking them again.....very tasty indeed.

No change to existing rules....just more chances to test some yummy tucker.

My boss is running around in excitement.

Anyway just a thought....

There will also be a damper cook off.

My mouth is watering already. You guys (and gals) are going on more than a Cape trip - it is a total immersion experience thanks to Mark. Look forward to regular reports - pics - and videos.

MarkVS advised me what my name is going to be on this Cape Trip, Hmmm MKR not sure I can fill these shoes.

How a day changes, I went for a walk while away for a relaxing weekend with some friends and when I came back I found out I was a judge in a Roast Competition. Moral of this story when we're away make sure MarkVS doesn't have reception on his phone.

Looking forward to taste everyone's yummy Roasts.
