Yey for crew change day!
I got the 1 shift to go, then 3 days of pain to get home.
I'm up off the coast of Norway now, in the UK sector of the Nth Sea, on GMT + 1 hour, I start work this evening at 18:00 for a 12 hour shift until 06:00, then about 11:00 with no sleep I get to go to Lerwick airport for a small charter plane to Aberdeen. Then a 18:30 flight to Heathrow, followed by the 22:00 flight to Hong Kong. Here I'll finally get to sleep a few hours after take off which will be a few hours here and there as I'll be sitting 1 row from the back with my great ticket I have.
Land brissy 07:50 on 23rd after no sleep from Hong kong, as the 2 hours I had will somehow be enough.
Then the 90 mins on the train to walk in the door about 10:30 to 3 x excited lil' munchkins who will jump all over me and not let me rest until about 20:00 that evening (Brissy time).
Then I'll pop some well wicked pils and sleep till sunday lunch.
Love my job, and it is great to be back at work after 18 months at home.......

Here's to all who count their days away at work waiting to go home

How long at home before you have to go back, or don't you think about that until much later? :D

Bet you cannot wait to see the tin lids, I find it hard enough and am only a 1.5hr drive from home and away 4 nights a week.

Oh this last shiift is gonna be a beauty.
The vessel is off hire due to another UER ((undesired even report (a polite way of saying screw up)) with the dive system hydraulics.
I get to spend my last night playing with swash plate DCV's, yep, thats porn to a few blokes, and pain to most. Or, could be read as a day covered in haydraulic oil... >:D

Then when we get to Lerwick, may not be any planes due to fog, only half made it wednesday.

6 week on/off, but..... I now get 8 off so I am home for june and then september school holidays.  ;D It was 4 and 4 when last up here in nth sea, but the flights were too much, so this means less flights now.

Saddest part about my FIFO is that I time how long it takes from seatbelt sign off in the plane when arriving at the internatal airport in brissy to when I am on the train platform.
My best without checked bags is 2:18, that is 2 mins, 18 secs.
The best with checked bags is 7: 35.
I got to have some kind of sport when traveling. I can also give SYD, LHR, LAX, MIA times to if ya want. The SYD time is stopped when in the domestic lounge showers. 18 mins is the best for that....... Sad isn't it.

Oh, then more fun begins when home.
My 5 yr son bashed 1 of his cars into the bathroom window sill and termites were found in behind. $3,500 gone on a guarenteed bait method and full hose inspection wilst I have been away.
When it is found they have taken the baits etc, I get to rebuild a bathroom and possibly few other things.
So much for my steel work drawings for next mods to the CT......

I was to have been in Hong Kong now waiting for the Brissy flight.
Stuck in Aberdeen instead.
Flights had trouble getting to Lerwick yesterday thanks to beautiful Scottish weather, missed all my flights so off to Aberdeen hotel when the 1st plane eventually showed up.
Love my job
