I can see it working as long as there's a little bit of voltage in the battery to power up the stator otherwise........no go

Sure beats taking the battery out, wrapping it in a  towel / clothes or what ever, building a fire / use the gas cooker to boil up water and soaking the wrapped battery .. to use the heat get the acid inside to start working again ..  Not sure if it would work on a gel / paste battery though .
