Thinking of getting my better half one of these for a present. Does anyone have one and are you happy with it. He has an avanti double walled mug it is an aged one and is about 2 cups in volume and has a big handle for his hand and that is the requirements for this one. I am a bit concerned about the handle not being stable so would love your feedbak

I purchased a couple of Snow Peak 450mm double insulated mugs for myself and the Mrs to go in the Trackabout. A great mug that keeps your cuppa hotter longer and ya get no metallic taste like some metal camp mugs.  The handle works great and folds out of the way for storing.
The only down side is the price, but they are very good quality and like all snow peak gear should last a life time.

Im yet to find one that doesn't leak - EG: wearing your coffee while driving to work, thus having to head home again for another shirt.. how do you find them?

That's more than I can tell you. We just use them as normal mugs but you can buy a non spill top for them. (They do look similar to the rest)
Like you I'm yet to find a decent non spill mug for drinking on the move.

I hear your pain. On Friday I was going up peninsula link to a job in kangaroo ground and my wife had made a hot cuppa in my insulated water container from Costco. Funny it looks like a fire extinguisher when pulled apart. So it had been closed for about 15 minutes before I go of a sip. Due to the flip action it uses when opening I had scorched nuggets and coffee over the windscreen. It obviously had abit of head pressure pushing hot coffee up the dip tube.

It was funny about twenty minutes later.

I have the 450 dual wall mugs one for each of us, great mugs no metallic taste

Also have a single wall 600 for being able to heat up on the stove, is a bit harder to drink from as the mugs lip is rolled and some liquid can escape the mouth

Overall the double walls are awesome, have a coffee rinse out with water and and can then use for spirits
