Walked in to Masters today and they had Partner chainsaws on special for $99 made by Husqvarna even the warranty is under Husqvarna. Have only started and run it not cut anything yet but seems to be well built.

Sad that every quality brand now feels they need to have a cheap dodgey brand out there... even some of the bigger named hardware tool companies... :(

It is sad but I dare say it is so they can capture both ends of the market.  Can damage a reputation of brand in my opinion do so but.

Don't complain! It could be worse, you could be six foot under or a brick of ashes!!

You would be surprised the amount of  organisations out there that have there premium branch and s econdary brand to ensure they keep market share

At that price you could afford to replace it every year for the next five and only start matching the intitial outlay of a Huski branded saw.  I bought an el-cheapo brand GMC whipper Snipper almost 8 years ago from the big green shed.  It cost me $99.00 at the time.  I've never done anything to it, not even a spark plug.  It just died a last weekend, the drive shaft snapped.  I was pretty impressed with the life of that thing.

If it's made by Huski and they cover the warranty, then I think I will head down to Masters at West Gosford and buy myself one.  Nothing to lose I think.

   V8100 for the heads up.

You take it to any husky authorised service center according to warranty card.

I will probably only use it 3 times in the warranty period the last saw I had was $89 and it still works perfectly just has a broken pull start cord and for that price I won't even fix it.

Why do we assume Husqvanna are making a cheaper model ? Maybe all there smaller saws are the same and you pay a "arse reaming" price to get the Husqvanna name on your saw?

Eddy that's right, for the amount of times I use a saw I can't justify spending anywhere upwards of $350.00 or more on one.  $99.00 will do the trick for the odd occasion I need it.

No idea about this particular one. But the range from 12-18mths ago that was Husqvanna, poulan pro and Macolloch were made in the US or Italy depended on the tool and the price ranged from $500 for the husky badge to $200 for the Poulan pro badge.

I got a <$100 cheap, imitation, knock-off, chainsaw just under 2 yrs ago.
