I would probably just pick them up on the way through Lake Gregory. I am sure someone there may have some lol.

Last time I was out at Woolondilly station the old bloke out there was telling me how he would cook up carp, he reckoned if cooked correctly they were good eating, I never tried it though, on a side note they are pulling some large carp out of the nepean at the moment

We use to catch them all the time down the Condy (Condamine River) in Warwick.  Use to chuck them in a feed bag and take them home for grandma to mash up and turn into the veggie garden!

Needless to say we always had fresh veggies!!
Don't complain! It could be worse, you could be six foot under or a brick of ashes!!

I know up here you can buy fertiliser called "Charlie Carp" which is just that, Carp!  Mashed up pretty much.

When I lived in Sale our house was opposite a cow paddock with a very shallow irrigation channel through it.  You could see carp 'swimming' in the channels when the water was shallower than the carp were high.  They'd quite happily squish through the mud with the top of their bodies proud of the water.

Kids used to catch them by hand and hang them on the electric fence.  You'd hear click click click while the fish got zapped.  But it only takes a few hours until they stink.

Philosophically I don't believe carp should be eaten, or put to any good use.  They should be skinned alive and rolled in rock salt before being discarded into the desert  ;D
