Beach Camping (with campfires) near Brisbane

Morning all. Myself and a couple of mates had planned to go camp on the beach at Teewah this weekend. I've REALLY been looking forward to this as it will be our first time camping again after our big trip last year. This morning I decided to check the parks site and noticed that there is currently a fire ban on, which puts a bit of a dampner on the trip. Can folks please suggest alternative spots that are within a couple of hours of Brisbane where we can camp on the beach and make fires? We're not too bothered about showers and things...

Mate you'll pushing sh!t up hill to find a spot within a couple hours of brissy that allow fires.. If you can head further south into NSW ( Yuraygir national park) allow fires but its a 3-4+ hour run from brissy depend on where you go..
Check Bribie island but there's only couple of spots that allow fires and you can only have them for cooking purposes..
Anyway with the lack of rain that we've been getting lately I'd reckon that almost everywhere will have a total fire ban..

Not the sort of reply I was hoping for, but perhaps am expecting...

I've been to Yuraygir and we loved it there. I wonder if I can convince the mates to drive that far for 2 nights?

I haven't been to Bribie though! That could be a good alternative.

I know it's not beach camping but it's pretty close. Wooyung beach holiday park wooyungbeach.com.au just south of Pottsvile allows fires and is just across the road from the beach for fishing and swimming. Lovely Place but can be busy. About 2hrs from Brisbane

Bribie do allow fires at a couple of spots, but they don't allow fires within the surf beach camping grounds. (In saying that on any Saturday night you can either smell the smoke from camp fires or see people having them on the beach)

The other beach camping option close to Brisbane I can think about is Stradbroke Island.

straddie is only meant to be for cooking purposes too. Inskip would be the best bet, not far from Teewah.  Like others have mentioned though; lots of fire bans around at the moment, be sure to check with the ranger first

Fire bans in both places. You can however have a ozpig, which is allowed.
