Some funny comments on some posts about people jumping up post count with random posts. Thought in this one maybe we could go with something like tell us all at least one good thing that happened to you this week.

For me despite the scare of having fire so close to home the wonderful community spirit where people we hardly know showed up to help move the horses off the property and the neighbour who wasn't home when we showed up there with them (they have irrigated paddocks so safer) didn't hesitate to let us put them on the paddock when they got home.  Fantastic to see people helping others out.

Spent a brilliant week on a house boat on the Murray River ;D,despite the extreme heat ???. Travelled from the North East corner of NSW to the South Western corner via Newcastle to pick up my parents :cup:, and very glad to see that that area is getting some rain :cup:. Just hope the New England area gets some too its the driest I ever remember seeing it :'(. I have to go back now and take the Cub and camp along the river . Added to the bucket list

That sure does go on the good things list.  Would like to see some rain in our area of Vic too looks like it might miss us again this time.  Work is the unfortunate necessity to funding such trips

Had a call from our daughter who is in Thailand at the moment, first time away without adults and just a girlfriend , the call was very short and full of static but enough to put a smile on our faces as she is only 19 and our only child, it was lovely to hear her voice if only for a few seconds.

Good to hear you got to have that contact and know she is going ok.

It took me 45 minutes this a.m. to release a dragonfly from a disused spider web down on the dam. It's amazing how delicate their wings are. If the spider had been in residence I would not have worried but I knew this web was abandoned. The dragonfly, when released, did three laps around my head & then rejoined his mates around the dam.

Got 2 slabs of Millers for same at Yanakie. Dans can't even do that!! Fuel is more expensive than the beer!

After not doing so well in my latter years in high school 16 odd years ago, I have been accepted into University to finally get my degree.  im far from an intellectual type person and it wont be easy for me, but I can see a future with the company I now work for that will give me options to work anywhere in the world with them and take my family with me.  Uni starts next week for me....only 7 years to go.

Cheers

The drive home tonight after a s#!t week at work. Picked up a Rabbadab of Carlton Draught (it is made from beer after all...) and the thought of heading up to a family owned 40 acre block for the kids to ride their quads for a couple of days with no video games etc. is a good thing!
