About 30 years ago I tried something similar, buying the "Light of My Life" 2 small iridescent chrome slugs as earrings & a hook/knife sharpener as a "Set of Diamonds" while at a fishing workshop at Jones's Tackle in Brissie.
I'm still in one piece so go for it!
