Thanks for update. Biggies are the battery, suspension and mattresses. I assume price rises as these options become standard. Be interesting to watch.

the step insert would be when you open the door there is a step inside which will bring the door down lower and possibly one step on the outside, unless they have a portable step now like I had with my coromal, my guess anyway.

did they have a price increase with these additions..

Swan2014

Yeah there was a price increase of $2300.  Which is pretty good considering the extras that are standard now.  Going to chose new decor colours on Saturday, will try and get some pics.

From my faulty memory, I thought the prices for the options in 2013 was something like:

mattresses upgrade - about $300 each
battery - $300
independent suspension - ?? not really sure but think it was over $2k extra.

I know plenty of people like the inner spring mattresses on the Jayco. I have one, but I reckon it is a bit hard. In retrospect I would have been happy with the foam.

AND congrats on the order. I am assuming you got the Outback? Have a think about where you want the gas bayonet mounted. They put it further forward on the drawbar than I wanted.

Thanks mate, I just sold my 2011 swan outback. Looking for a Poptop but if I can find what I want I might buy another swan.....

Yeah I got the outback.  I'm getting gas fitting on draw bar right next to front off camper.  No probs jenko good luck, the wait is killing me , but I'm glad now with the extras that I decided to get the 2014, instead of a 2013 without some off the options we wanted.

Congratulations. Can't wait to see photos of the updates, especially the suspension

I'm not sure what thread its in so sorry of this is considered a hijack. Its certainly not my intent....

I have a brochure on the jayco independent suspension that will be fitted to the new outbacks.

Quote:
Developed to complement the jayco endurance chassis design
Fitted with large diameter heavy duty pedders off road shock absorbers and coil springs designed specifically for jayco rv's and australian conditions
Aeon rubber spring installed inside the coil resulting in a progressive rate whe the suspension is compressed
Designed to have toe in and toe out adjusment for wheel alignment
Fitted with Alko stub axles, bearing and brakes that are suitable with the fitment of Alko ESC
Manufactured using automotive processes including pressing, CNC machining and robotic welding

(Ok - loosly quoted because my spelling is bad and I'm too tired to check it and fix it...........)

I know the whole independent v solid axle has been done to death, but I really like the idea of coil springs and ESC........
Watch the video at ALKO ESC (Electronic Stability Control) 2012

I think the extra cost for the upgrades you get is more than fair. I'd happily pay it.

Cheers
Brian

This IS a hijack of sorts, but curious to know what you want in a swan that you did not have that you will find on another used CT. Independent suspension maybe? Would have to be something that was too costly to have modified your old one?

Swan2014

All good, and thanks for the extra info Briann532, I had seen the video before, nice bit of kit that one.  Where did you get the brochure from, was there any pics.

I picked it up at jayco Newcastle on the weekend. I'll scan it and post tomorrow. (Sorry but I haven't got the scanner at the moment.....)

Thanks for the advice, we have been to a lot of places where there have being storms and 40 knot winds, and the fiamma awnings have been fine.  We always have shade cloth down the front and out one side to block most of the wind anyways.  With the front poles roped.
