Flagpoles....what do you use?

We always like to fly our Aussie flag while camping, especially during the Australia Day weekend. Previously we've just hung it off a tree or off the side of the tent etc., but next trip we want to fly it up high and proud!
I tried it off the surf rod once, didn't really work, plus I had to take it down to go fishing, which was a PITA!
I'm thinking of some 25mm electrical conduit (which would be kindly "donated" by the sparkies at work ), joined together to make a 3 or 4 metre pole.
So what do others use as a flag pole, and how do you keep it.....erm.....erect?!

I use conduit poles to hang my auction signs off, but they will bend to much at 3 or 4 metres long. Painter poles or a spreader would be the go.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Might try an old tent pole, see how that goes.

I use a telescopic fishing rod that I bought from Rays for $30.  It was just the rod, no eyelets and works a treat.
