I must confess to being a bit of a movie buff and I love to read..........I dislike most TV as a general rule, especially so the rigged talent quests and reality crapola like big brother that they pedal.

If I do watch TV it tends to be something that is a true distraction. I tend to watch stuff I can download, no adverts etc.
current faves are in no particular order :) :

The Walking dead - new season just started
Strike Back - finished
Falling Skies - finished
Grimm - awaiting next season

So, What are you lot watching when you are trapped in domestic servitude and cannot shed the entrapments of modern life and go bush?

Interesting you mentioned strikeback. Good show but I thought season 1 was the pinnacle. Still enjoyed others though.

Try "Justified" Timothy Olyphant plays a US Marshall. You'll love it GandG.

X 2 - Alan Sorkin's scripts are machine gun perfection, IMHO. I hear his The News Room is as good - can't but it online in Oz and refuse to pirate it.

Game of Thrones  X  n  The production values put many movies to shame

The Good Wife X 2 - classy & clever plot line, complex & deeply flawed characters

United States of Tara - started good seppo cable comedy - Toni Collette's best role
2012 Complete Campsite Fraser hard floor | 2012 Ford Ranger dual cab XLT 3.2 manual + too many mods - including nut behind wheel ;p

Porn stars

Yeah, I watch a lot of that, surprised any one admits it publicly. Ah, sorry, did U say "Porn Stars"? Didn't notice the word stars on the end. .

I like shows like "gasoline", "how do they do that",  "junkyard wars" pretty we'll any that you see how to do/build stuff. Tried that WC Choppers thinking I was going to learn stuff. All I learned was they were all wankers being wankers.
Do enjoy Big BangTheory too of course.

Post 2000 Dr Who, sport is obviously not on the option list so not much else. Simpsons is on the slide (has been since season 10 IMHO) , Big Bang Theory (purely because it's on nearly every time the TV is turned on) and unfortunately more than a few kids' series eg Peppa Pig etc etc

I've been recording that to watch but haven't made an effort yet because it looks like James Spader acts the same as he did in Boston Legal, which I really enjoyed when it was first out but if he is the same smug, acid tongue character, then it would be too much of the same. What do you think???

I used to wonder why anybody downloaded TV series.. I mean who has the time to sit through that much TV?
The my son got me onto The Walking Dead (I do love Zombies!) and I figured out the advantages...

1. download an entire season, or a few seasons of chosen show.
2. When dinner is over, dishes done and kids in bed, site down and watch an episode or two. Ad free and you aren't tied to any certain time.
3. Repeat until you run out of episodes.

With the amount of ads on free to air (and even subscription) TV these days, even when you can find something decent to watch, the ads just ruin it. Watching an actual movie on TV these days is terrible.

After we ran out of Walking Dead episodes we started on Game of Thrones, then Breaking Bad.. both HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Now Walking Dead is back and we only get the new episodes each week after they air in USA. I have to say the interest is waning. Season 4 so far is pretty dull.
