We recently bought a Polaris Fire Pit (http://www.polarisinnovations.com/firepit.htm). Having not used a fire pit before, it was recommended on their web site that you use it with a base. Where would be the best place to buy a base for it? Not being handy or having the required tools we can't make one, so buying is the only option. Thanks in advance.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

What about some corrugated iron offcuts, maybe 2 smaller pieces overlapped. Pretty light too carry
and would probably fit in the bag for transit.

Marschy

You probably need a tray to catch the odd ash falling out. A good sized pizza tray would do the trick.

nice looking unit

I suggest trying it without a base to start with. It doesnt look like it has holes in the bottom for ash to fall through anyway.
Getting there if half the fun

The other half is a cold beer when you do.

ive just brought one of these. and not using it without a base

its not mad a mess once as yet.. so i was looking the same as buying a base but have decided not to. There really isn't alot a base could do..

Pretty happy with the unit yes they are damn expensive, however it cleans nice, no sharp edges and works a treat. and its not buckled etc so pretty happy in general with it.

I'm waiting on a sample to arrive from China -- The base is actually the metal case the folding fire pit comes in ..

As I could end up selling these I'll keep the price to myself for the moment .. Size is quite small at 30 X 30 cms ...

I'll post up some pics after arrival ...

Could you use a garage drip tray, these are usually pretty light although a bit long on one side.
