Hi all,

Brand new to the forums. Actually got recommended by matm, so a big thanks to you

Recently aquired a new Market Direct Camper from the Brisbane office. Drove down from Townsville to pick it up and have basically camped with it all the way back up north.

It is a Semi-off Road model that has been phased out, same with the tent which is a MDC-01 model. It is the "smalll" tent but I can say with a family of 3, it is huge!!

I was worried about the quality and it being Chinese/Australian but so far so good. Tent quality is also great, and is real easy to pitch. I have it down to 28 min on my own including adjustments.
Trailer is also great with good welding all round and nothing to say bad in the small time of ownership. There is mounts for shockies, so that will be my first modification. This addition would make it the MDC Offroad model. Considering the most offroad this will go is dirt tracks and maybe some sand driving, it'll do.

The towing rig is a Mitsubishi Challenger PB which has been great to tow with. Only mods have been a TJM Steel bull bar and Factory tow bar that I installed myself.

Camp site, on the beach at Harvey Bay, QLD.

At Home with the annex room attached, showing kitchen.

The shock mount, soon to be utilised

I'll be leaving Townsville soon and the family will be camping down to the Hunter Valley, so I will put up another post detailing the quality of MDC CT.

Thanks and look forward to being a part of myswag.com

Welcome guys,
Great to have you aboard.
I have the same mdc that we purchase in March and found it good value for money. I noticed you don't have the fill in under the kitchen either. We should have went that way but didn't realise it was an extra.
Anyway enjoy and hope to hear more of your experiences.

Thanks all for the welcome.

What is this fill in you speak of, Ynot?

Just where your kitchen swings out and leaves the open back of the trailer plus the opening under there to underneath your trailer. If you are trying to keep mozzie free you need a piece of canvas that velcros in for $150 or so but i didn't realise when i bought ours

Hi Killz,
I have the same camper and am very happy with it. Have just completed a trip to the Flinders and on up to Marree and onto the Oodnadatta track and down the borefield track to Roxby Downs. The only trouble I experienced was to pop all the pop rivets out of one end of a gas strut that assists in lifting the bed to get into the trailer. I have screwed some angle on the frame to reinforce the strength of the bed frame and attached the gas struts to the angle. Both the tracks were not too. bad but there was some very "boney " bits for about 50 ks Good luck with your purchase as I am very happy. Have photos on the track and will post asap. By the way I do have the fill in under the tailgate and kitchen and is worth every penny.

Hi Killz

Have a new Challanger and am interested in a front bar myself.
I am thinking of a steel over alloy & like the lok of ARB however wonder if I need to upgrade the front struts ? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Good to see another Challenger! I can help with this Q. My front end dropped by 30mm after the bar and plates were fitted. It felt quite unbalanced and I quickly went for an upgrade to regain my height (plus a bit for fun). I went the Ultimate Suspension route but there are plenty of others out there.
