After looking for tyres and deciding on what size I ended up getting them at Jax Tyres Cairns.

I emailed 6 places asking for quotes on bridgestone 285/75R16 and included my mobile number. The prices varied as expected and the idea of including my mobile was to see if any one would call.

Interesting only one person called and it was Sam from Jax tyres and they were the cheapest.

( A big thanks to BigDougie for also getting me prices )

In the end I decided to stick with my existing size tyre as I have never had any problems with the size 265/75R16 on all the trips I have done. I also decided that as I will need new shocks soon and a new exhaust I would also watch the dollars and ended up getting the Hankook ATM tyres. I have had them before and never had a problem and at $210 a tyre it was well within the budget.

Speaking to Sam he was straight forward and honest and gave great advice plus excellent service and I will be getting them to do the shocks also.

I was going to go 33in but 31in will still get me to where I want to go and my partner , Penny , does not mind the 2in difference  ;D

Geeze Mark, your lady Penny is a very understanding lady.  ;D ;D

You are ripping yourself off Mark. 265/75/16 = 31.9inches. So really only 1.1 inch difference to the 33's.

KB 2 cm is close to the true difference considering 24.5 mm = 1 inch ( or there abouts)

I have the same tyres.
I'm happy with them.
I didn't pay that for mine though.

I don't know much about tyres, but Sam at Jax Tyres was fantastic helping us out with brakes and tyres after our Cape trip. He went above and beyond, and on a public holiday too :cup:
