My concern would be all that weight only being held on by those gutter grip roof racks. Brake suddenly and i'm picking the whole top rack would suddenly overtake the vehicle.

Seen them again about an hour later heading south on Gladstone rd in rocky and it did look like it was bouncing on the bump stops in the rear. There was a bloke driving and a lady in the passenger seat.

2 spare tyres plus the one in the boot. Tipping the might have destroyed a few tyres already with that load.

The ladder is to get everything off the roof, now how do I get the ladder down?

Not to put a downer on what is a great thread, but I've seen something like this before and it was basically an older male pensioner that had been evicted from his home and this is how he lived in the short term.  I pulled into a camp site and was chatting with the guy. He'd had had a reasonably comfortable life, wife passed on and he was just touring with his wordly possessions until He found a new place to settle down.
It didn't look great nor safe, but He was happy in life.  I left knowing He was going to find a new place, neither sure where.

Great spot, I had a house just walking distance from there, used to walk down for coffee on a Sunday.
We have been down here for about 4 years now but only just sold that house in the last month or so.

Anyone travelling through Rocky, this is a good rest spot to take some time off the road. Very relaxing and Rocky's best kept secret!

You are right there mate. Not brilliant for parking with trailers but if you drop in during the weekend away during school times there would be a bit more room.

It's ok, it's a Toyota

That was my first car actually Toyota Corrola Seca i took that thing to Yagan and so many other tracks that had 4wd only it was not funny FWD will always pull you through i then donated it to my brother and he did the same thing.
6 years of abuse later it had some dints in the floor panels and 1 tie rod replaced

The most indestructable first car for active kids if there ever was one

Haha, that looks like the way I did my first lap of oz in a Toyota tercel.
Bought it in broome for $500, got a roof rack off a landcruiser off it which we used to sleep on. Just used the tent poles from the dome tent and.chucked.the mosquito net over and if it rained we would chuck the fly of the tent over.
We used to get some funny looks in the morning when we had pulled up after dark and people would get up and see two ferrals sleeping on the roof of the car!
The car sat on the bump stops for the whole trip and would ping if you tried to use 5th.
It made it from broome to townsville the. Up to cooktown via the blomfield track then, survived 2 months of driving pizzas for domino's in airlie beach and all the way back to Perth only to blow up 2 weeks after we got home!

It doesn't matter what you do it in just get out there!

You are right about the rake. We used the rake to clear the yard from the seeds from the tree we have in our back yard for the camper. We bought a second one to stay in the camper. It will be so handy!

Unfortunately I camp in a state forest, so it is important to return the area to it's natural state when we leave, or s close to it as we can ,so a rake it is.
