I am talking about ppl with CRONIC pain..

just having a small cut on ya foot, then any of the above 3 mentioned will work fine.

Carry on...

Yes, I hear you re chronic pain. I use Endone for a certain condition (Head aches) I have, along with Oxycontin if it goes on too long. Have a look at that and you will see I know what chronic pain is. I'm glad the new brand works just funny that is is the same as all the others but you get a different result, it's good though and the longer you can stay on less strong pain killers the better, have you tried Tramadol? I don't use the narcotics much as they suck but do there job. I don't use Panadine Forte any more as they are too weak but they are a good pain relief drug I agree.

Started out fine until I dropped apiece of glass on my ankle.  Bit of duct tape to hold it together until I could get to the drs and get 4 stitches this afternoon around 4.  Then off to see specialist for a vasectomy at 6 tonight. First time I've ever had stitches twice in one day and quite sure I will remember this day fo years to come so sitting here in a world of pain trying to keep my mind off it. :-[

Cheers eddy
Had a mate who had a vasectomy many years ago and he was bragging about how well he was coping a day later. He reckoned he could handle a round of golf.
Another mate of mine bounced a golf ball in in front of him.
The brave bugger with the vasectomy did more injury to himself protecting the jewels from the bouncing golf ball than what discomfort the golf ball would have done.
I laughed so hard, I had tears rolling down my face.

you guys talking of getting the snip
are scaring me ................!!
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

Hope it all looks up from here

Al, hope your wife is improving
Funniest thing is seeing three blokes in a waiting room with bag of peas,   I went the no scalpel no stitch route and was all good..

The dr was great afterwards he says that it needs to cycle a 100 times to ensure any left overs are gone. I said could you wait till swmbo was here.

He replied why doesn't your hand work

the bride went in today for a a operation to have her appendix removed and ended up being transferred to Coronary Care Unit after having a heart attack while on the table.  Could be in Hospital for a bit longer then planned.

That is terrible, but if it is going to happen it is the place for it.

Best of luck for a speedy recovery for all.

Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts people.  Got to bring her back home today, which was great.  After they did extra blood tests and a heart scan they determined the heart was good and put it down to wiring issue and the message going to the heart was a bit jumbled possibly due to the op.  We all know how electronics can be a convoluted and contentious issue so  we have to go back to the Cardiologist in a few weeks time and do more test, stress echo test etc and see what comes of it all.

For now she is a sore girl from the op and be bed bound for a few days yet
Cheers

That's about it BigJules.

The Stress Echo Test will be interest.  Hope they have an alternative to the treadmill for those with mobility issues.  Anything more then a slow walk will have Jan and walking stick going like Fuji's cordial, all over the place.

Hey Al
When l went through the cardio rehab those who could not use the tread mill used a hand pedal machine
they push you pretty hard on the stress test but you can stop when ever you feel you have had enough

I don't know how it can be as it is the same ingredients which is 30 mg Codine and 500 Paracetamol. There are plenty of brands that do the same things and it is unlikely that they are any different in any way, just cheaper.
If you compare the weight of the active ingredients to the weight of the tablet you will see most of the contents are "inert". The companies claim to use size, shape and other stuff to enhance the absorption/effectiveness of their product. I have found that some of the generic products that should be the same have adverse side effects on me.

What I am saying is that what is supposed to inert may not be.

Take care

Had mine done inNorth Brisbane by a guy who was supposed to have done the first in Australia (done at least 30,000). Couldn't drive after, so caught a bus to Brisbane then a train to Corinda, caught a taxi the 1 kilometre to home because I was in no state to walk 8)  ;D
I do remember that there was requirement for minimum performance to ensure the operation was a success  >:D

So after some complications I am laying here in hospital with a massive blood clot and waiting to see if they are going to drain it or if it will disperse itself. Would not recommend it to anybody .  Hoping I am better for fiji in 2 weeks.

Make sure that you compare this option with the consequences of not having it.  Personally despite the immediate pain (>20 years ago) I think it was worth it

I reckon all these blokes that say it is easy are just setting you up. Lol. It's certainly not something to put on your bucket list.

Yes but it may be on SWMBO's bucket list

There was an upside for me when I got the snip, and that was having to "use" it everyday for a month after it healed.  I'm not sure what the actual run-in procedure was suppose to be, but that's what I told the doctor to tell me in front of my wife!

And was it just me, or the first time you used it in anger did you have that split second thought, just before the crucial moment, where you imagined yourself in 5 seconds time curled up into a fetal postion whilst holding your nuts, and screaming in pain like a girl?

GeoffA

Very important do select the right surgeon for this.
My brother and I were done at about the same time, by 2 different surgeons.
He suffered greatly. I didn't. Similar reports from others that used them.

Ask around first.......

My son was an only child for 11 years. When the missus suggested it was time for me to get a vasectomy, I suggested it was time for another child. Shortly after that our daughter arrived.

Glad I won that argument. Love my daughter to bits. Oh and my son too!

The surgeon is apparently very good think I was just unlucky.i have put it off for 11 years. I reckon you maybe just shouldn't mess with nature.
