I would like to make everyone aware that there was a fatal accident on Duck Ck Road at Kerry (near Beaudesert) last Sunday morning.

The long time partner of a work mate was killed.

The main reason I am letting you all know is that the vehicle (a white 75 series ute) will be staying where it lies forever as it is too dangerous to recover it. Many people drive this track and the vehicle is visable down in the valley. The car is empty so there is no need to risk your life going to look in it.

In the early hours of Sunday morning Rick and his mate were heading up Duck Ck rd to wait for the sunset at the look out but unfortunately they never made it.

The vehicle slipped from the road and tumbled about 50m to the valley below. It is believed that Rick was killed instantly and his passenger was thrown from the vehicle and has 2 broken legs, a broken arm, a broken back, a broken neck plus a ruptured spleen and punctured lung amongst many other injuries. He will be in hospital for at least 12 months.

The local farmer heard the accident and the screams of the passenger and raised the alarm. The police attended the accident at about 5 am and the road was closed all day.

It is a very sad situation and we hope the passenger makes a full recovery.

Take care out there people. These accidents are starting to affect people I know.
Cheers

It appears so but I don't know for sure.
